What’s Growing At The Cottage No. 079

Mexican Heather (Cuphea hyssopifolia) are tidy plants with finely textured, glossy, bright green leaves with nonstop lavender blooms. It’s native to Mexico and parts of Guatemala. The Plant is also sometimes called False Heather or Hawaiian Heather. Although, in Hawaii it’s considered a weed! It has no relation to the European family of heathers. Mexican Heather is fast growing – 2 feet tall and wide – and makes an ideal container or border plant. Best of all its very low maintenance and a magnet for the bees.
