Learn about native plants & animals while strolling through the forest

Get your hiking shoes on and come along for an educational ranger-led hike through dense stands of evergreen trees, mountain trails, and streams. You’ll spot native azaleas in bloom, huckleberry bushes, alders and willows amid the old growth redwoods. You’ll hear Steller’s jays, acorn woodpeckers, western gray squirrels and more above your head. Raccoons, skunks, banana slugs and maybe a steelhead trout will speedily pass you (except the slug!).

Taking a walk in the forest does wonders for the soul. You’ll also meet some new people, learn more about the forest and its inhabitants and get some exercise while you’re at it. It’s just a short walk from The Cottage!
